The Pit is more than just a great place to enjoy mouthwatering BBQ, for us it’s about family, tradition, and great live music. The Pit originally started 14 years ago when we quit our corporate jobs to spend more time with our families. Soon after we opened our first store, our little secret was out and The Pit became a Memphis staple. There are no shortcuts here! We grill our meats using an offset style BBQ pit combined with time tested family recipes passed down from generation to generation rather than following the latest trends. We run our pit 24 hours a day, fueled only by wood and passion. We grind our own sausage by hand, only use meats and ingredients from the local market, and make everything from scratch. It’s a lot of hard work but we love what we do!
